After getting some great shots in the New Forest for their engagement shoot, it was off to Southampton City centre in April for the Hampshire wedding of Sarah & Nick. The ceremony was held at Southampton Registry office followed by a reception at Kutis Royal Thai Pier restaurant on Town Quay.
There was a distinctly Thai feel to the wedding with the brides flowers containing beautiful Dendrobium Orchids.
I met up with Sarah and Nick at the Holiday Inn next to Mayflower Park on Southampton’s waterfront which they had chosen as it was within easy walking distance of all the venues. Having everyone getting ready in the same place was great as the grooms preparations are normally missed out in favour of the bride getting ready. Here I was able to capture both!
Not having a car to take the bride to the ceremony meant that we got to take a couple of extra couple shots on the way. The guys also insisted on re-enacting Reservoir dogs…
After the ceremony at Southampton Registry Office, it was back over the road to Town Quay and Kutis Royal Thai Pier Restaurant for the speeches and some amazing Thai cuisine.
Master of Ceremonies for the day was Mr Trevor English
We managed to get out to Southampton’s old walls (conveniently just a few minutes walk from Kutis) to get some lovely couples shots.
Sarah and Nick had laid on some brilliant entertainment for the guests including games for the kids and a magician for the adults. Without doubt the most popular event of the evening was the casino – it did seem to be the children making off with most of the winnings though!
After promising me there would be no surprises during the day, Sarah (big Disney fan!) and Nick then dressed up as Beauty and the Beast for the first dance. I’m surprised we got any shots here as I was so busy laughing!
